"Would you like a scone with your mocha today?" uttered my barista. I shook my head from side to side as I stopped to study the face in front of me. She looked so familiar. Then it hit me! She was in my Organic Chemistry course in college and had gotten one of the only A's in class! "I know you from State. I thought you were a medical school hopeful," I stated. Her cheeks blushed a crimson hue. I realized how harsh my comment sounded and noticed she had a look of desperation as if she could die from embarrassment. "Cool, I'm a part time waitress," I stated. I took my mocha and lifted it to make a toast, "Here's to our Biochemistry degrees." I took a sip as if to celebrate and headed out the door to work. Where are all the REAL jobs? I thought.
After much brainstorming I decided to be my OWN boss. I'm now writing blogs and advertising products on the web. I must report that it's a lot more fun than waiting tables or working in a lab with cancerous chemicals. Click here to find out how to be your own boss. That or slum it until you can find a REAL job.
